In Armenia, October 9 is celebrated as Holy Translator's Day or in armenian "Soorp Tarkmanchatz" every year in the St. Mesrob Mashdots Church of Oshagan. However, this year is more important than the rest because it has been many years that the old Shukhonts Bible handwritten in 1669 is being kept in the archives. This Bible has been kept in the archives of the Madenataran museum, Soorp Amenaprgeech Church, and the Soorp Garmravor Church for a full 200 years. This October 9th though, this old artifact was taken out of the archives to be presented on display during the Holy Mass, in armenian the Holy Badarak. This Holy Badarak though was very different as it took place at the 1st Armenian Church, Holy Etchmiadzin where the public were allowed not only to observe this old handwritten Bible, but touch it also to receive their blessings.
